Celebrity Style - In the Kitchen

I have a number of interior design projects in the works, including various stages of kitchen designs. My goal is always to create spaces that feel fresh but also timeless, especially when it comes to kitchens. They are an investment and I never want them to tire quickly.

Today I'm sharing a peek into the world of celeb kitchens. Some of these actresses have since moved but their homes were stunning, non the less. Cheers!

In the hood...

I am currently working on a couple of kitchen designs. Selecting a unique hood is a great way to personalize your kitchen. Not only are they functional but beautiful. Whether you are a modernists, traditionalist or somewhere in between there is a hood out there for you. I am currently loving the "french" versions that have a little more interest, shape and detail. A statement hood works in both large and small kitchens. Here is a round up of some of my favorites.

Window Backed Kitchen Cabinets

When I saw Nicole and Andrew Sheehan's kitchen in this month's Traditional Home magazine (photographer: Werner Straube), I was immediately in LOVE with the window backed kitchen cabinets. (The photo in the actual magazine is more of a close up of the cabinets so you can see how amazing they really are.)

Unfortunately, if I did this in my kitchen it would only offer a view into the garage, the mudroom or the foyer, so it's not an option for me. What are your thoughts on the idea? Would it work for you?

You can see the rest of their home on the Traditional Home website.

Williams Sonoma at Home

I was leafing through the March 2008 issue of House Beautiful when I saw a photo of chairs on a stair landing that reminded me of the new Williams-Sonoma Home store in New York. When I looked closer, one of the names of the designers, David DeMattei, sounded familiar. Then I realized that he is the group president for Williams-Sonoma and I actually met him at the opening party last fall. The home has a Williams-Sonoma feeling but is not a literal translation of the store. I'm swamped with work so for more information, you can check out the details at House Beautiful online. Bon Weekend!
